Give Greeks their chance.

The first think I want to mention is that finally Papadimos talked for more than 3 minutes in front of a camera. I think he gets over his bashfulness and he’ll soon be ready to implement all the austerity measures he promised..

To tell you the truth, except from the journalists, I don’t believe that more than 20 people watched his proclamation. Not because they just don’t believe him but they don’t care either. They have seen for two succeeding years the complete deprivation of their dignity. They are now ready to encounter the enemy that wants to take away their life.

All Greeks know what the exile from the European Union and the return to national currency means. But consequences are more legitimate than a souvlaki or one shot of ouzo. Most of them they know that PSI and the new memorandum will just longer their road to default.

It’s like being in a coma. You know you are going to die but you want you funeral plate to have a greater number on the right place. You know it’s a meaningless life being in a bed without consciousness but the doctors keep giving you drugs.

Now the Greeks seem to have run out of strengths. They can’t continue. They just want to pull out the cable and stop the beeping sound. This is the privilege of being Greek, you always get what you want, in various ways, And neither Mr Papadimos nor Angela Merkel have the right for another useless electroshock
